Sculling and Rowing Lessons
Rowing is a growing sport with many benefits for low impact all round fitness, general enjoyment, social outlook and the unique ways in which it can be either an individual or team activity. For most people coming to rowing for the first time their primary aim is to get in a boat and have fun on the water as soon as possible. Some will want to develop this in to a serious competitive pursuit and others will row purely for fitness and enjoyment. Any learn to row programme, therefore needs to cater for people with very variable backgrounds in fitness, flexibility and aspirations. In our programme we give you some guidance on how to develop these areas while primarily concentrating on teaching the basics of sculling and rowing. We have written a ‘learn to row’ programme across 10 sessions. Lessons are run in accordance with GB Rowing guidelines and The International Organisation (FISA) safety guidelines. The programme starts from the premise that all beginners will benefit from learning basic skills of boat confidence, balance, boat moving and manoeuvring. These skills will allow the participant to develop rowing from a sound technical background. Class timings In an ideal situation our classes would be of no more than 8/10 individuals and would run for 5/10 consecutive weekends. However we recognise the need to be flexible and will endeavour to accommodate any situation. Class timings New courses will be run as students are available. The classes will take place at the Mina Seyahi Water Sports Club. Classes can be given to one person. Weekends: Friday and Saturday 0700 – 0900 Timings can/will be flexible Cost All necessary equipment will be provided. Learn to row 10 lessons AED 1000.
